Meet The Team

Chair
Jo Le Noury
I first connected with Pat and the Bright Tights team after my diagnosis of ovarian cancer in 2015. Their support was invaluable during that time, and now that I’m well, I’m passionate about giving back to the charity in any way I can.
As a former GP and Public Health Associate, I use my background to raise awareness about the early signs and symptoms of gynaecological cancers, helping people recognise them sooner.
I give talks to local groups, share my knowledge, and attend the support group. It’s an honour to be part of such a dedicated and impactful charity, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute.

Treasurer
Rachel Remfrey
Hello, I am Rachel Remfrey, a retired physiotherapist, now Pilates Instructor and a mum of 3! I solo parent a lot of the time, so life is busy, but when I get time for me, I enjoy walking, yoga and pilates.

I was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer in 2021 and following surgery in May 2021 I have made a full recovery.
Bright Tights supported me during and after my treatment and it is now my pleasure to be able to give something back to the charity by taking on the role of treasurer.

Committee member
Ann Battye
My professional career was in Education, firstly in Cumbria and then at La Mare de Carteret School where I taught for 29 years, initially as Head of Modern Languages and then as a Senior Teacher.

I subsequently took up the post of Island Advisory Teacher for Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education and retired in 2010.

I held the position of Treasurer of Bright Tights from its inception until 2023, but having retired from this post I am privileged to remain a member of the Committee, still contributing to the wonderful work of the charity, dealing with emails and looking after the boxes of pens sold in various outlets on the island.

Committee member
Pat Child
In 2008 I was diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer and by the middle of the next year having survived months of treatment, I was bald, battered, bewildered and in need of support. Although there were several local charities supporting cancer patients there were none specific to gynae cancers, which I felt was needed.
A ‘fun’ fundraising lunch, turned into the formation of Bright Tights. The aims were simple: To support people diagnosed with a gynae cancer, increase awareness of the symptoms of the cancers and support research.
In 2023, I stepped down from the Bright Tights chair but remain a member of the dynamic committee. It is great to see the charity going from strength to strength under Jo’s leadership.

Committee Member
Kate Corcoran
My name is Kate Corcoran, and I’m married to Paul, with two grown-up children, Callum and Jamie.

I lead the SHARE Team, where I teach young people across the Bailiwick about relationships and sexual health. In addition, I work part-time as a Practice Nurse at Island Health.

I joined the Bright Tights Board 18 months ago, as it complements my work in helping young people understand what’s normal for their bodies and when to seek help for any concerns. Educating about body awareness and early detection of cancer is a lifesaving message that the SHARE team is deeply passionate about.

Bright Tights does incredible work raising awareness of gynaecological health and supporting those affected by gynaecological cancers. I’m proud to be part of this team, helping the charity achieve its important goals!

Committee member
Yvonne Le Page
I am a founding member of Bright Tights, motivated by my experiences with several friends and family members affected by gynecological cancers.
I believe it’s crucial to raise awareness and help others learn more about these cancers. In my professional life, I work for HSC as the Public Health Business Manager.
In my spare time, I lead a Girlguiding unit and train Girlguiding leaders, combining my passion for community service with my dedication to empowering others.

Committee Member
Carol Le Sauvage
I have worked as a nurse for over 40 years, with the past 11 years dedicated to my role as a Cancer-Related Lymphoedema Clinical Nurse Specialist. In the last 5 years, I’ve also had the privilege of supporting patients diagnosed with gynaecological cancers as a Gynaecological Support Nurse.
My goal is to meet patients at the time of diagnosis, or as soon as possible afterward, to offer support, guidance on treatment decisions, and referrals to other services where necessary. I strive to ensure that both the physical and emotional needs of my patients are met, providing assistance and direction when needed.

Committee Member
Lesley Morris
Hello, I’m Lesley Morris. I joined the Bright Tights Committee because I deeply appreciate the charity’s efforts to raise awareness of gynae cancers and support women affected by them.
The charity provided me with invaluable help during a particularly challenging time in my life, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back. I’m married with two sons, and after a long and fulfilling career in Insurance,
I decided it was time to focus on new pursuits. Although it often feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day, I do my best to balance everything and stay involved!

Committee Member
Karen Dick-Cleland
I’m Karen Dick-Cleland, and I’ve been the Minute Taking Secretary for the Bright Tights Committee for the past 6 years. I’m a mother of three with two grandsons and a granddaughter.
As a two-time cancer survivor—breast cancer 17 years ago and malignant melanoma 13 years ago—I understand first hand the importance of the work we do at Bright Tights.
In my spare time, I enjoy travelling and spending quality time with family and friends., but most of all, precious time with the grandchildren!
